Improving Municipal Public Health Innovation

Designing a cross-department platform for scaling public health innovations in a large Dutch City.

Project Overview 

A major city in the Netherlands has the ambition to add two years to the healthy life expectancy of its residents by 2025. While innovation is valued and is seen as an important factor in achieving this goal, the full potential across the organization was not being realized. 

Action & Impact 

Through design thinking and strategic sessions, Heartbeat Ventures worked with the leadership team of the city’s public health service organization to design and develop a cross-department innovation platform that could best facilitate the realization of the city’s ambitious health vision.
